When it was annouced in the summer that Montreal Canadiens Scott Gomez would wear #11 in the 2010-2011 NHL hockey season, I cringed. To be honest, I was very upset about this decision.

A lot of people may not have thought of Ilya Kovalchuk’s present situation to be anything like the Mats Sundin situation from a couple years ago, but I’m not like most people. The one word that links Kovalchuk and Sundin together? Saga.

Welcome back for our fourth episode of the 09-10 NHL season. This episode will feature a scary scene out of Florida involving Keith Ballard and goalie Tomas Vokoun, along with some Olympic news. Also featured in this week’s episode is the injury report and our Question of the Week. In the Question of the Week we talk about Alexander Ovechkin and did he receive a fair discipline for his hit on Tim Gleason earlier in the week.

After a long break, Slap Shot Radio is back for a brief episode today. We feature lots of Montreal Canadiens news, as they were very busy this week along with our Who’s Hot and Who’s Not featuring league leaders and a former Anaheim Mighty Duck. One thing that you should note that we didn’t get to record, is that Ales Hemsky is out for the season! More on that in the next episode!
