About the Host, Ryan McKenna

Ryan McKenna is a first-year Journalism student attending Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario.  Coming from Canada’s smallest province, Prince Edward Island, Ryan brings grit and passion to the journalism field.  McKenna is the Owner of Sports Super Station (http://bit.ly/jJKz4), a sports media company that hosts Major League Baseball and National Hockey League podcasts and blogs.  In 2010, McKenna started the first ever school newspaper at his high school in Summerside, PEI called “The Oaks”.  Some of McKenna’s highlights in his young journalistic career are interviewing Canadian and MLB Hall-of-Famer Fergie Jenkins, and one of North America’s best motivational speakers, Murray Banks. While at Ryerson, McKenna is working in the Atheletics department as the Ryerson Rams Public Address Announcer and supervisor of hockey operations.  He announces men’s and women’s CIS hockey, basketball, volleyball and soccer.  His goal as a journalist is to give the general public what they deserve, the truth.  The truth can range from so many things.  From sports, to politics, to everything in between, the public needs to know what happens, and they need to know it in an honest manner.  In his spare time, Ryan likes to hit up the golf course, play baseball.  Please feel free to leave a comment or send him an e-mail at ryan.mckenna@ryerson.ca
