Season 2, The Hot Corner
Episode 7 of The Hot Corner is dedicated to the 2010 MLB All-Star game taking place in Anaheim today and tommorow. The State Farm Home Run Derby takes place tonight as mentioned in the show at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN or Rogers Sportsnet in Canada. I predict that Miguel Cabrera will take home tonights championship as he has been hitting the ball a ton lately. As for the All-Star game tommorow night, I think the American League has the advantage, offensively at least. Also in this episode we talk about the big trade that happened this past week in the Majors. Unfortunately, we could not reach Regis and Kelly for an interview! However, please stay tuned to this website and The Hot Corner over the next two days as special guest columnist, Patrick McKenna will give the American League (Tuesday) and the National League (Wednesday), their report cards as we’ve reached the mid-way point of the season. Finnaly, if you haven’t already done so, check out Patrick’s special report card on Canada’s team, The Toronto Blue Jays, right here.
Enjoy the show!

The Final Vote winners for the 2010 MLB All-Star game were announced yesterday and one of the winners was the expected winner while the AL winner had a hard fought voting battle with the runner up. The NL final vote player was Canadian Joey Votto of the Cincinatti Reds. Most people, along with myself believe [...]

Season 2, The Hot Corner
The 2010 Major League Baseball season has been one where pitchers have stepped up their game, and it is quite noticeable. This year there have been two perfect games, while also two no-hitters, and finally one performance by Armando Galarraga that came within one out of a perfect game (ataboy Jim Joyce!). In typical Major [...]

What an unbelievable catch by Arizona Diamondbacks left fielder Cole Gillespie, as he robs Aramis Ramirez of extra bases in the Diamondbacks 9-5 loss to the Cubs. To view the video, click here.

Season 2, The Hot Corner
The All-Star rosters were released yesterday. Not a whole lot of surprises in the rosters although I can’t believe why Canadian Joey Votto was left off the National League roster. Votto is having a heck of a year this year hitting .312 with 19 Home Runs and 57 RBI’s. You do have a chance to [...]

Season 2, The Hot Corner
This picture was taken on June 18th by myself, as SportsSuperStation was in attendance for the Toronto Blue Jays game against the San Fransisco Giants. Barry Zito carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning for the Giants before Edwin Encarnacion had a 2 RBI single. The Jays went on to win that game 3-2. Great [...]

Season 2, The Hot Corner
In this picture, Erik Bedard of Navan, Canada, pitches during a rehab assignment start in Tacoma. This will be Bedard’s last rehab start as it appeares he is ready to come back up to the Major Leagues. Bedard last pitched in the Major Leagues on July 15th, 2009 when he injured his shoulder in that game and that injury required surgery. Sources tell SportsSuperStation that Bedard will make his season debut against Kansas City on Tuesday, July 6th. One reporter asked Bedard about Canada Day and what he would be doing to celebrate. He responded with: “If I was at home, I would be drinking beer.” That’s a true Canadian for you!
