The Hot Corner – Wednesday June 30, 2010

The College World Series wrapped up last night and it was a thriller. The South Carolina Gamecocks won the first game of the best-of-three game set against the UCLA Bruins. Game 2 needed extra innings and in the bottom of the 11th, Whit Merrifield drove in the game winning run for a 2-1 win for the Gamecocks and a College World Series championship. The game was also the last CWS held at Rosenblatt Stadium in Nebraska as they are building a new one.

The Hot Corner – Tuesday June 29, 2010

The Cincinnati Reds show why they are a top the National League Central Division with some superb defense by 2B Brandon Phillips. The Reds are a half game up on the Cardinals with a 43-34 record. Thanks to TSN for this clip.

The Hot Corner – Monday June 28, 2010

Some rough times for the Tampa Bay Rays. The Rays who have dropped out of 1st place in the AL East and are now 3 games behind the Yankees are getting frustrated. Yesterday, B.J. Upton and Evan Longoria got into it in the dugout as Longoria thought that Upton didn’t try hard enough to get a ball, as you will see in the video.
